Our Story
The Lyon County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (LCARES) was established in 2001 and has been active and growing since. Our members hold license classes ranging from Technician to Amateur Extra.
We assist the Lyon County Emergency Manager, the Lyon County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, and the Red Cross during emergency situations. Our mission is to provide emergency communications via amateur radio when regular communication systems get overloaded or fail.

LCARES is always looking for volunteers who desire to support emergency radio communications. If you are interested, please visit our Join Us page.
